Steve Dickerson

Steve is a Senior Advanced Analytics Leader and General Manager with nearly 25 years of experience in financial services. He began his career at American Express as an econometrician before joining Discover Financial Services, where he served as Senior Vice President, Chief Data Scientist, and Management Committee member. Steve’s expertise spans analytics, modeling, marketing, credit, fraud, collections, operations, and AML. 

Throughout his career, Steve has excelled at leveraging data science and analytics to pursue strategic objectives while managing risk. He has successfully developed innovative programs in sensitive regulatory areas like AML and credit underwriting, utilizing AI and ML advancements. Steve’s ability to communicate effectively with federal banking agencies has been crucial in implementing these programs. 

As a general manager, Steve promotes an analytical approach to business processes and builds cross-functional teams to support end-to-end perspectives. He has served on various governance committees and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from The University of Arizona. Originally from Arizona, Steve now calls Chicago home with his family.
